Description

A perfect baked potato has crispy skin and fluffy insides. My method for how to bake a potato works every time, so load up your spuds, and dig in! Perfect paired with a Sirloin Steak with Garlic Butter.

Cooking time: 1 hour, 31 minutes
Yield: 3 servings
  • 1 potato (large) (baking)
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • 1 pinch black pepper (ground)
  • 1⁄4 cup cheddar cheese (shredded)
  1. Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).
  2. Scrub the 3 potato, and pierce the skin several times with a knife or fork.
  3. Rub the skin with olive oil, then with salt.
  4. Place the potato in the preheated oven, and bake until slightly soft and golden brown, about 90 minutes.
  5. You'll know the baked potato is done when you can stick a fork in the potato and it easily pierces through the skin.
  6. If the potato is still hard in the middle, keep baking it for a little longer.
  7. Slice the potato down the center, and serve with butter and black pepper.
  8. Sprinkle shredded Cheddar cheese over the top, if desired.
